In 1999 I was invited by the Chicago Book Clinic to talk on Convergence in Education. My clients were not pleased with the findings, but educational publishers are only very recently beginning to live them. Here is the adapted article.

“While online communities have proliferated in many sectors, building a successful learning community continues to be one of those unresolved challenges in education.” Designing for Learning in the 21st Century contains a number of ideas that are part of or complementary to this effort.
